Incoming GP referrals arrive with the patient's clinical summary, presenting complaint and urgency level. Accept or decline with notes.

After consulting the patient, send a structured clinical report directly back to the referring GP. It appears in their patient record automatically.

Patient Records

Full patient history, consultations, prescriptions, lab results and imaging. Referral notes from the GP are pre-attached.

Telehealth Consultations

Run video consultations for follow-ups and second opinions without patients travelling to your rooms.

Specialist Microsite

Premium subscribers get /specialist/your-name with conditions treated, procedures, hospital affiliations, testimonials and a referral contact form.

How to get on ELMED

Register with your HPCSA number

Create your account, select Specialist and add your HPCSA number, specialty, subspecialty and consultation fee.

Get approved by the ELMED team

Credentials are reviewed and your account is activated. Your profile appears in the specialist directory.

Accept referrals and consult digitally

Referrals arrive in your inbox. Accept, consult and send your report back to the referring GP without leaving the platform.

How do GPs refer to me on ELMED?

GPs use the Referral Hub in their doctor portal to search for specialists by specialty. They select you, attach a clinical summary and send the referral. It arrives in your inbox instantly.

Can I have a public profile so patients can find me?

Yes. Premium specialists get a full microsite at /specialist/your-slug with conditions, procedures, hospitals, testimonials and a referral enquiry form.

Do I need to be in the same city as the referring GP?

No. Telehealth means you can accept referrals from GPs anywhere in South Africa and consult via video.

What specialties are supported?

All HPCSA-recognised specialties are supported. The discipline field on your profile is a free-text entry so any specialty can register.
